Emily + Vasily | Lionscrest Manor Wedding | Lyons Wedding Photos

I really love when other vendors refer me to their clients.  I try to recommend great vendors to my clients as well, as often as I can.  Typically clients have their photographer booked before they have their cake baker booked, but that wasn’t the case with Emily and Vasily.  One of my own bridesmaid’s works for her mom’s company, Colorado Rose Cake Company.  Emily and Vasily had already hired them to create their gorgeous wedding cake, but they had not hired a photographer yet.  I was so appreciative of the referral from these lovely ladies, and even more appreciative to Emily and Vasily for trusting me to capture their special day.  They were married at one of my favorite Colorado mountain wedding venues, to make it even more awesome!  Emily and Vasily had a beautiful and romantic Lionscrest Manor wedding, with some travel elements and some “english garden” touches, and vibrant purple details throughout.  The lush floral arrangements were stunning, and the purple flowers contrasted with the yellow of the sunflowers just perfectly.

I just loved working with Emily and Vasily!  They are such wonderfully nice people, and I was so glad to spend my 33rd birthday documenting their love story 🙂  It was a very warm July day, and the wind was quite strong at times…but they wouldn’t let that bring them down.  Some of the most memorable moments from the day were when Emily’s dad (their officiant), quoted Joey from Friends during their wedding ceremony.  “We are gathered here today on this joyous occasion to celebrate the special love that Emily and Vasily (originally Monica and Chandler) share.  It is a love based on giving and receiving, as well as having and sharing. And the love that they give and have, is shared and received. And through this having, and giving, and sharing, and receiving, we too can share and love and have… and receive.”  Besides a love for Friends, Vasily’s best man talked about how much rap music Vasily once listened to, especially Eminem.  I knew I was with my people LOL 😉  It was also wonderful to see how many friends and family made the trip from Russia to celebrate with Vasily.  They were all such polite and nice people, and his mom and brother really had some moves on the dance floor!  And his dad played the guitar beautifully during their ceremony. It was a truly amazing day, focused on family and love.  I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed capturing them.

Somebody loved Emily’s bouquet just as much as she did…bzzzzzz…
