The story of how Ashlea & Reed became my wedding clients is a pretty unique one. I owe this booking largely to Facebook. When I was in 5th grade, my sisters and I befriended some kids that had just moved into the neighborhood. They were only our neighbors for one school year. At that point, they moved to Texas and have remained there ever since. Through the power of Facebook we were able to reconnect with this family in recent years. This family is great friends with Ashlea (bride) and her family. Ashlea and Reed decided they wanted a destination wedding in the Colorado mountains. They planned a Mary’s Lake Lodge wedding in beautiful Estes Park. My former neighbors knew I was a wedding photographer in the area, and they put Ashlea in contact with me…and the rest is history 🙂 It was so fun to see them in person again after nearly 25 years!
Ashlea and Reed were a wonderful couple to work with! I had the pleasure of meeting Ashlea prior to the wedding, when she made the trip from Arkansas to do a venue walk through. Reed, on the other hand, I did not meet until their big day. It was great though, they were naturals in front of the camera and just the nicest people.
Ashlea and Reed definitely embraced the beauty of the Colorado mountains, and we even had extra time to drive to some beautiful Estes Park locations. Ashlea and her bridesmaids rocked their portrait time in Rocky Mountain National Park. The light pink dresses really popped against the blue mountains and the green trees and grasses…beautiful! Sorry to the girls that rode in my car, and were a little frightened by my squealing tires on those windy roads LOL 😉 I think it was worth it to photograph in such an epic location as Sheep Lakes though, right? After the ceremony, the newlyweds and I headed over to Mary’s Lake for some equally epic waterfront magic! Finally, the couple and their guests danced the night away. It was a spectacular celebration of family and love!
