Meet the newest Mr. & Mrs. Del Vecchio! My husband and his brothers sure didn’t make it easy on their parents, with wives named Melanie, Melissa (moi), and Michelle! The couple had been living in Santa Barbara for the last several years. So even though Philip had accepted a job back in Colorado, they decided to keep the wedding in Santa Barbara. I love doing destination wedding photography, and this was my first time in Santa Barbara. It was a very quick trip, but we had a great time and the weather was perfect!
Michelle and Philip’s wedding was held at the Santa Barbara Courthouse. Most people think of a courthouse wedding in a very different way, but this courthouse is just beautiful and they were married on the lawn with their closest friends and family! My husband was a groomsman, and it was a little strange photographing him 🙂 The bridal party dressed in navy, gray and mint…everyone looked amazing! Not as amazing as the bride and groom though! I knew Michelle would look stunning, she is a beautiful girl. Her dress was a perfect choice for her, and the jewelry selections, the birdcage veil and the pop of color from her peony bouquet were on point! Philip looked really great too, I loved the bow tie!
Their ceremony was followed by a laid back reception at the downtown restaurant Cadiz. Everyone enjoyed cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres, and then some delicious cupcakes! I didn’t have much downtime as I was working hard, but I did get a few minutes to chat with my second shooter, Cari Hollis. Cari is a great photographer, and was nice enough to make the drive from LA to shoot with me. We first met on the wedding planning website Project Wedding, and we have been online friends for 5+ years…it was so nice to finally meet in person! Thanks for your help!
Michelle had a beautiful lace dress for the ceremony and reception, and then she changed into a more casual dress (far right), for the after party!
Philip grew up playing baseball, and coached as well…the cuff links were a great choice!
The ribbon on the right was wrapped around Michelle’s bridal bouquet. It is a picture of her and her late mother, what a wonderful way to incorporate her into the day. They also had a framed photo of her that Michelle held during some of the family formals.
Michelle’s make-up artist had this adorable heart mirror. How perfect for a wedding!
Philip was definitely thinking ahead, and gave Michelle a cute coat in preparation for their move back to Colorado 🙂
The bridal party took trolley rides to the ceremony. It was a cute touch!
They requested the “Bridesmaids” shot. We didn’t have the exact picture or movie cover on us, but they did an awesome job winging it! Fierceness 🙂
Haha…Michelle photobombing the guys!!
And off to Cadiz for the reception!
Michelle said I was off the clock for their beach after party, but I still snapped a few photos! Then I enjoyed their taco bar, had some adult beverages, and spent some time with the in-laws!
Congrats Michelle & Philip and welcome to the family Michelle! Your wedding day was a sweet and beautiful celebration. I wish you a lifetime of wedded bliss!
xoxo,
Melissa
