Lisa found my business through one of her bridesmaids, whom I had the honor of photographing her sweet family photos a few years back. Lisa had a very demanding work schedule, so I actually met her mom before I even met her. We finally sat down for coffee shortly before the wedding, to go over the details of her rustic Winding River Ranch wedding. At the time Travis was working several hours away, and so I wasn’t able to meet him until the wedding day. I normally include engagement photos with my wedding packages, because it’s nice to interact and photograph the couple prior to their big day. This helps them feel more comfortable around me, as well. Sometimes it’s just not possible though. In this case it was a non-issue, as these two were very easy to photograph. They are hilarious together, and laughed the entire time!
This was my first wedding at Winding River Ranch. It’s such a beautiful Colorado wedding venue, I can’t wait to go back there again someday 🙂 The ranch is in Grand Lake, which is an area of the state that I just love. Their wedding was a “rustic chic” event…complete with cowboy boots and hats, hay bails, vibrant sunflowers, and lots of wooden elements. The property has a bunch of rustic structures as well, including a couple awesome barns. The large, historic barn on the property was a new favorite, for sure! I have photographed a lot of couples by barns, but this was the first one where they could stand on the upper level, with an upper barn door that opened. I just loved those photos!
Because it was raining out during their first look time, we decided to do those photos in the barn. It was kind of fun how Travis opened the door to reveal his bride 🙂
How adorable are these two?! Seriously, they should be in a bridal magazine!
This has got to be one of my favorite bridal party shots I have ever taken 🙂
It was so sweet when Travis danced with his daughter during the father-daughter dance! They decided to bring all of the fathers and daughters on the dance floor, instead of just having Lisa and her dad out there.
