Back in September two of my photographer friends and I road tripped all the way to Scott City, Kansas for Sam and Evan’s wedding weekend. They were so sweet and gracious, welcomed us (and fed us) at their rehearsal dinner, as soon as we arrived. It was really fun to get to know them better, see a bunch of their photos, and hear about their relationship journey. Because we lived so far apart we were not able to do engagement photos, and their rehearsal dinner was the first time I was able to meet them. They were both so wonderful to work with, and very much in love. It was such a pleasure to capture their Kansas wedding photos, they literally laughed and exuded joy the entire day…it was such a beautiful thing to document! This was actually my second time in Scott City. You may remember Amanda and Jordan’s rustic Kansas wedding from a few years ago. It is such a cute little town. It reminds me a lot of Mead, CO, where I lived for the past 8 years. Sam and Evan’s wedding was at Camp Lakeside, which was a really great location, with a lot of variety. They had an adorable first look amongst the trees, followed by lots of portraits by the lake, near the rustic buildings and fences, followed by an evening, candlelit church ceremony. After their ceremony, guests showered them in colorful fall leaves and they exited in a vintage car. We snuck off for some night portraits below the moon and stars, then they returned to their guests and enjoyed an Al Fresco reception. It was an amazing evening, and they had the space decorated beautifully! I especially loved the pumpkin centerpieces, and the outdoor chandelier hanging over the checkered dance floor. Talk about a romantic setting for their first dance as Mr. and Mrs. Graber! Shortly after their wedding, they moved from Scott City to Scotland…what a change! I have not even had a chance to visit Scotland yet, let alone live there. I am sure it’s been amazing so far 🙂
