Today didn’t quite feel like fall around here, with a dusting of snow on the ground, and 30 degree temps! But by the end of the week, we should be back up into the high 60’s. Speaking of beautiful, sunny fall days, here is Marianne and Colin’s wedding. I shot this wedding alongside my friend, Sharee Davenport Photography. We captured these Longmont Colorado wedding photos at an equestrian ranch in the glorious Colorado foothills.
This Longmont wedding was chock-full of personalized DIY details, with the perfect balance of rustic and lilac touches. I especially love the custom bar that they created. The groom even brewed his own beer for their big day…what an awesome and unique contribution!
At this particular wedding, I spent a lot of time with the groom and groomsmen. The girls got ready off site, and then wanted photos around the downtown Longmont area. Sharee and I split up to cover both groups simultaneously. It worked out great, and the guys were a lot of fun to work with! We got a ton of variety in their photos. Which was a welcome change, since often the girls get most of the attention on the wedding day 🙂 Since photos were very important to Marianne and Colin, we spent a good amount of time with the newlyweds too. I’d say we nearly covered every inch of that ranch! Between the open fields, mountain views, rustic barns and bridges, and the trees that were just starting to change color, we got some really great options for this beautiful couple. What a fabulous day on the front range!
I love being able to capture some photos of the guys just being goofy and having fun together. That’s what the day is all about!
While the guys were outdoors having fun, Marianne and her dad were having a father-daughter first look. This has become a newer trend in the wedding world, and it is often super emotional. Which was the case with these two. What a special bond they have, it was beautiful to witness!
Here is an example of a sweet “first touch”. It’s an option for couples that don’t wish to see each other before the ceremony, but for those that do want to talk and hold hands, and sometimes even pray, before the ceremony begins.
They were so excited for their Longmont wedding reception, they sprinted to get there 😉
And then we snuck them away for even more Longmont Colorado wedding photos as the sun was setting. We didn’t get a lot of color on this evening, but it was still worth it to get a few photos with the soft golden hour lighting! Plus, Marianne had a beautiful pashmina, so we just had to get some shots in that too 🙂
