The Stanton Family | Golden Family Photos | Colorado Portrait Photographer

If you follow my work you may recognize the Stanton family. I have had the opportunity to work with them a number of times over the years. Alyssa and I use to dance together for the Colorado Eagles. I love, and appreciate, that she has supported my little business over the years. It’s also been so fun to see her little family grow! When we were dancing together she wasn’t even engaged yet, now married and 2 precious kiddos later. For their Golden family photos we met up at the Golden History Museum and Park. I had never visited this spot until last year…and then I went 3 times lol 🙂 It’s a really cute little spot. There are rustic structures, flowers, a bridge and river, as well as some small spots with mountain views. It is a bit of a Golden “hot spot” though, and can get extremely busy though.

This was a fun session, in a gorgeous setting. I had not seen miss Delaney since doing her newborn photos. She has grown so much. What a beautiful little lady, just like her mama! Alyssa always does a great job dressing the family. Their outfits “go” without being too matchy. These colors popped great against the green grasses and trees, and especially against all of the brown of the rustic buildings. We were originally planning to do their spring photo session in City Park in Denver, to capture the amazing blossoming trees. I had left for the session, and the wind was absolutely INSANE! We weighed the pros and cons and decided to reschedule, and so I turned the car around and came home. While the only spring blooms we captured on the actual day of their shoot was a couple lingering lilac bushes, it was still the right choice. Happy, warm kiddos trump pretty flowers! Besides…it was still a picturesque setting.

We added the grandparents in for a few photos! What a great looking group 🙂

Thanks Alyssa and family! I love working with you all, and what a special treat to meet both sets of your parents as well 🙂 I hope you all are doing well during this crazy quarantine time, and having so much fun as a busy family of four. It would be wonderful to have you in front of my lens again, later this year.

We captured photos in a colorful studio setup, urban images in a grocery cart, and ended with a chair in the river at sunset. I promise…you don’t want to miss it! Our poor class of 2020 students, this is not how your senior year should end. Sending hugs and love to all of you during this difficult time!
