Risa and Blaine + 1 on the way | RMNP Maternity Portraits | Sprague Lake Colorado

Risa and Blaine are a super sweet couple that I had the pleasure of photographing last year. They were visiting Colorado, from Kansas City, and decided they wanted some RMNP maternity portraits while they were visiting. We decided on two of my favorites locations Moraine Park and Sprague Lake. They kept things easy by sticking to one outfit. When that outfit looks this good…I definitely don’t blame them! Risa was stunning and glowing 🙂 She wore a fitted, long sleeve wine colored maternity dress. This color worked so beautifully in this mountain setting. It really popped against the yellows and greens of the grasses, and the blue of the mountains. Truly an excellent choice! Blaine looked very sharp too in a blazer and dress slacks.

Risa and Blaine are one of the those couples that just makes my job easy and so enjoyable! They were easy-going, kind, and actually took the time to find out a little bit about me too. Sometimes I feel like conversations with clients can be so one sided, and I am left trying to think of questions to keep asking them and keep the session flowing. These two were good conversationalists and it made the session that much more gratifying. I really love the variety we got during their photoshoot too. Loads of mountain views, since they don’t get those at home! But also photos next to the river, in the long grassy fields, walking along a quiet dirt road, and on the wooden dock and bridges. We had some excellent weather as well. Sunny and gorgeous, but some nice cloud cover to filter the light and really bring out the blues of the mountains. All-in-all a wonderful evening in the Colorado mountains with some wonderful people!
