Today on the blog, Dominic’s Holy Family senior photos. This is the first time I have worked with a student from Holy Family High School in Broomfield. And this is my first time having a client named Dominic. The same name as my son LOL! I kept picturing my own kiddo as a high school senior during this shoot. I am sure that day will come way sooner than I think 🙂 Dominic just graduated from Holy Family, and was a gifted athlete who will continue to play football at the University of Mary. There is another funny similarity. The University of Mary is in Bismarck, North Dakota. I was born in Bismarck, and still have a lot of family living there now!
For Dominic’s class of 2022 session we visited three very different locations, which allowed us to get a ton of variety. We started on the football field of the high school. We incorporated his football jersey and some football props. This part of the photoshoot reminded me of Justice’s recent football senior session HERE. After a bunch of sports themed images on the field and in the bleachers, in his jersey and even in a sleek, navy blue suit, we headed over to Boulder. Dominic and his family wanted some urban shots, so I led them to the alleyways around the Hotel Boulderado. This was our quickest stop because trying to find parking was time consuming and we didn’t want to waste all of the nice golden hour and sunset light in these alleyways.
Finally we ended the session at sunset at Chautauqua Park.
The Boulder flatirons are such a beautiful (and popular) backdrop, and are quintessential Colorado. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful senior session. At Chautauqua Dominic went a little more casual with a nice blue button down and tan shorts. We didn’t have endless amounts of time here, but you don’t really need it here. Chautauqua has great views right off the parking lot, so we didn’t waste anytime hiking. We arrived and got right to shooting! After some sunny, golden images, the sun was setting and we started to get some nice sunset color too. The sky was showing off in shades of purples, pinks, and oranges. Gotta love Colorado!
These are definitely some of my favorites of Dominic’s Holy Family senior photos. Cool sky, powerful posing, great suit, and dramatic lighting. That made a really great combo!
Thanks Dominic! Wishing you all the very best in North Dakota. I hope you will create lasting memories, and lifelong friendships there. Hopefully we will be able to work together again someday for a family session, like we were always planning (but never came to fruition). For my final May blog post, I will be sharing Alyssa and Branden’s Oaks at Plum Creek wedding photos. What a magical day that was, so check back soon!
