Alexis + Roy | RMNP Winter Couples Photos | Sprague Lake Colorado

Today’s blog post is a pretty epic one (if I do say so myself)! Alexis and Roy and I ventured to Sprague Lake for their RMNP winter couples photos. This shoot was a little shorter than some of mine because it was windy and chilly! These Floridians were troopers though. They didn’t need endless amounts of photos they said. They just wanted a session to show off the winter wonderland landscape of Estes Park. This sweet, married couple was dressed to the 9’s for their session. Alexis wore a strapless, wine colored velvet dress. She looked absolutely stunning! I loved how the dress popped against all of the white of the ice and snow, and the blue of the mountains. Roy looked sharp in a black suit. I am glad they both dressed up! Sometimes during a couple’s session the woman dresses super fancy, and the guy does not. It just doesn’t work as well, when they aren’t on the same level of “dressiness”.

Sprague Lake is so beautiful year round. It is definitely one of my personal favorite spots in Rocky Mountain National Park. It can be a very windy location during the winter months though, so there is always a risk there. We had some wind on this day, but we REALLY can’t complain because it was sunny and gorgeous anyway. We were able to capture a ton of great stuff together! It was a complete success, which is always such a relief when things turn out even better than expected.

This is definitely one of my favorites from their RMNP winter couples photos. Gah…that dress is so gorgeous on this frozen, mountain lake!

Thanks again Alexis and Roy! It was a lot of fun meeting and photographing you guys. I hope you love these photos and they bring back happy memories from your Colorado trip for many years to come. How many of your Florida friends have had an opportunity to dress up all fancy and walk on a frozen lake at 8,600 feet above sea level?! Pretty unique experience!! I hope 2022 has been great for you both 🙂
