Cassady’s session wasn’t meant to be a two day event, but that is how it ended up. You just never know what our Colorado weather is going to do! We started at Sandstone Ranch in Longmont on what seemed like a nice evening. About 30 minutes and two outfits in, the skies opened up. We tried to wait it out in the car for a bit, and even tried to relocate to a different part of Longmont. Nothing was changing…it was a complete downpour! We decided to try again several weeks later to complete these Colorado fall senior pictures. That second day was a gorgeous afternoon filled with vibrant fall foliage at the Idaho Creek Open Space Park in Del Camino.
For the Sandstone Ranch portion of the photoshoot Cassady wore two outfits. The first was my favorite from her senior session in its entirety. A cute mauve pink corduroy skirt with black belt, and a long sleeve, white top. Her white sneakers completed the look, while keeping it true to her own style. Next, she selected a black, long sleeved crop top, and army green cargo pants. Basically completely opposite of the first, feminine outfit…but she sure rocked them both! She had beautiful, loose curls for day one of the senior portraits.
For the Idaho Creek portion of the session she wore black jeans and a dark teal sweater, tucked up to show off her toned stomach. I only shared two individual shots of Cassady in that outfit, since we actually did a family mini session with her parents and younger brother too. That is the outfit she wore for all of the group shots with them, so we only snapped a few of her alone. Lastly, she decided to stay in her fourth outfit for the remainder of her photo session. That was a short, sage green dress. A simple, neutral choice, but it really let the vibrant fall foliage shine. Cassady asked if she could do a few shots with her silver car at the end of her session. Of course! I love to incorporate props into the photos, to make them much more personalized.
This one doesn’t show off the fall foliage, but it is still one of my favorites from Cassady’s Colorado fall senior pictures at Sandstone Ranch. Love her smile, outfit, and pose. But so many good ones…this girl can’t take a bad picture!
Thanks Cassady (and family) for your flexibility with spacing your senior session out like this. I know it wasn’t ideal, but I think it turned out amazingly well in the end. I hope you enjoy your final few months of high school. Wishing you all the best with whatever your future has in store 🙂 On the blog next, Katie and Jake’s snowy Evergreen couple’s session with their sweet pups. Have a wonderful weekend friends, and see you back here next week.
