Wow…this one was elaborate! Not my typical senior session for sure. I love this family though and have worked with them multiple times over the years. You can check out Addie’s sister Rylee’s Mead High senior portraits during the summer of 2020 HERE. Four years later, it was Addie’s turn for the spotlight! This session turned into two days, five locations, and you aren’t going to believe this…a whopping fourteen outfits!! Make that sixteen if you count her letterman jacket and a cardigan that were added for a handful of photos. Again, this is not your typical senior session with Plum Pretty Photography. Of course if you do want a luxury, meticulously detailed senior photography experience like this, I can happily accommodate that. I would love to bring your senior photography dreams to life 🙂
We started Addie’s session around the Pearl Street Mall area of Boulder. Since Pearl itself is always so busy, I actually really prefer the alleyways around it. Especially because I know of some with cool wall murals, colorful brick, an ivy wall, and grungy, urban photo vignettes. Addie wore army green cargo pants and white crop top. Followed by jeans, hot pink heels, and a sheer black sleeve top. A “pretty in pink” dress with a white bow in her hair. And finally, a short, dark teal dress with cowgirl boots. With this many outfits we didn’t have much time in each outfit. I had to be sure to set alarms on my phone so we could stay on schedule. Although we still ran out of light, which is why we ended up doing a two part (two day) session.
Next Addie’s mom had found and rented use of the flower fields at Boulder Flower Farm. I didn’t even know this place existed until we did her session there. We spent a good chunk of time at the flower farm, because it was just so beautiful! Addie’s mom also rented a cool vintage chair that we incorporated into the photo session. At this location Addie started in a pink tulle dress with a sweetheart neckline. It was one of my favorite outfits overall. Then a short white dress with a great lace detail on the back. Jeans and a black crop top, followed by a short black dress with a tiered bottom. Her mom put together a little bouquet of purple flowers to hold, as well as some giant sunflowers. The best part of shooting at a flower farm is that they sent us all home with some beautiful bouquets.

So many favorites from Addie’s Mead High senior portraits, it’s hard to choose just one! This one is up there though. Definitely one of my favorites from day one of her session. I love this beautiful scenery, the cool vintage chair, and that amazing tulle dress!

We arrived at Coot Lake a lot later than planned. The flower farm was just so beautiful, and we were trying to squeeze in a lot! I brought out my lights and stands so we could use every last bit of daylight. But we still did not get one of her dresses in, nor did we get her in the lake. The weather was also changing quickly and getting very windy. At Coot Lake we managed to capture photos in three outfits though. First, Addie wore light aqua jeans and a geometric ivory top. Followed by a long floral skirt that flowed so beautifully, as well as a pink cropped tank. She added a lacy cardigan over the top for a few shots as well. Finally, a cream and floral, layered romper. That was a wrap on day one!
A few days later I met up with Addie and her family again, a lot closer to home this time! Because this wasn’t supposed to be a two day session we wanted to make things pretty quick. I had already taken nearly 1500 photos just on day one. We met up at Addie’s school, Mead High for some photos with the sign and for some “in the middle of the road” photos. We used this same spot for her sister Rylee. She wore jeans and a white tank top. She also added her Mead letterman jacket in for a few photos.
I had suggested Highland Lake in Mead, as I did my mini sessions last year at this little hidden gem. We had the place to ourselves, and it worked out very well. Addie wasn’t even scared when there were a bunch of tiny frogs jumping all over the place! She was a trooper, because she really wanted photos in a lake. This location is very secluded and even has some distant mountain views. She did some additional photos in the beautiful pink tulle dress from day one. This time we were able to fit in her very last outfit! Another tulle dress with a sweetheart neckline, this one a grayish blue. It was a sunny, golden evening. I absolutely love the photos from this location.

I am ending with one of my favorites from day two of Addie’s Mead High senior portraits. That sunny lake scenery almost looks like a painting. And I just love her soft smile and graceful pose with a beautiful tulle dress…chef’s kiss!

Whew…what a session! Thanks so much Addie, I had a lot of fun bringing your senior photography dreams to life. I hope your senior year is truly incredible. You deserve only great things 🙂 Next on the blog, the Laughlin’s family session at their wedding venue to celebrate Michele and Justin’s 10 year anniversary. Check back very soon!
