The Polston Family | Family Photos in Estes Park | Sprague Lake RMNP

Today I am bringing you more Polston family photos in Estes Park. This is my fourth session with this beautiful family. All four in Rocky Mountain National Park, all four at Sprague Lake. They just love this location so much! Maybe someday they will decide to venture out to a new location. But if they don’t, it’s ok with me. This is one of my favorite photography locations. Sprague Lake is picturesque year round. This year they decided on another fall session. This location doesn’t have a ton of fall foliage, but we found a couple golden pockets here and there. Sprague Lake may be limited in fall colors, but it offers so many other great photo spots that more than make up for that. Amazing mountain and lake views, the wooden dock and bridges, lots of trees, and a mountain stream flowing through various spots.

Kylie always puts together the most adorable outfits for herself and her girls. This time she wore a brown flowy dress. Their girls wore dark pink dresses, with cowgirl boots and bows in their blonde hair. The colors of Tim’s plaid button-down shirt complimented his ladies well. We ended up with an absolute ton of images during their session. Admittedly, this was the hardest of the four sessions we’ve had together. Wrangling two little girls, that don’t necessarily want to have their photos taken was definitely a challenge. I tried to focus on a lot of candids during their session. The lighting was a bit tough too. I don’t think I saw a single cloud in the sky. Don’t get me wrong, the golden sunshine was gorgeous, but angles can be more limiting when it’s so bright.

Eventually the sun dipped behind the mountains, and we could shoot in any direction. I can’t complain about a challenge though, it was a great family session and I know we got a ton of variety. Many photos of all four of them, candid and posed alike. As well as lots of romantic couple’s photos of Kylie and Tim. Tender moments with mama and each of her girlies, and BFF sibling photos. Sure, it may have taken some bribery with sweet treats, but we managed to get everything they wanted!

This sweet, candid shot is definitely one of my favorites from the Polston’s family photos in Estes Park.
