I have been so excited to share Shu & Jamin’s Crooked Willow Farms wedding photos here on the blog. I have wanted to shoot at this venue since I first learned of its existence, probably a decade ago. It was so exciting once Shu and Jamin booked my business for their fall wedding. Honestly, it was totally worth working on my hubby’s birthday to capture their awesome day. It wasn’t the easiest wedding day I have photographed because I had a broken foot and was in a medical boot. I clocked about 12,000 steps hobbling around in the boot, but everything went so well. Shu and Jamin are the sweetest people, and I absolutely loved working with them. Their engagement photos were so great, I just knew the wedding would be such a fun and beautiful day too!
There was so much to love about Shu and Jamin’s fall wedding day. They had so many amazing details throughout their wedding day. They DIYed their floral centerpieces, and those turned out absolutely stunning. Their wedding invites were some of the most unique I have ever seen. The invitations were a brick red color, laser cut and acrylic with an intricate design. So cool! During their wedding ceremony they incorporated elements from both of their cultures and religions. They broke bread and shared communion together. They also incorporated Shu’s cultural tradition of a Chinese tea ceremony. This ceremony is about serving tea to your family members (often their elders) as a sign of respect and gratitude.
In recent years there has been a trend called the “one song challenge”. Essentially it’s a rapid-fire way for the couple to get a photo with all of their wedding guests quickly. The DJ gives them one song to run from table to table and get a photo before the song runs out. Shu and Jamin decided to change it up a bit. They remained on the dance floor and the groups ran up to them for a quick photo. This method wasn’t even because of my foot injury, but was greatly appreciated since I couldn’t move super fast. I wasn’t sure how this would turn out, but it was awesome! Guests had a blast and the photos turned out incredible. Guests had some funny poses, that wouldn’t have been as easy if they had remained at their tables. Some even lifted Jamin up for a photo. So many laughs!

This is definitely one of my favorites from Shu and Jamin’s Crooked Willow Farms wedding photos. You know I love a dramatic veil shot! All of the color from the flowers around the cherry on top!

This two “fist bumped” multiple times during the day. I just love how they can be so silly one minute and sweet and romantic the next!

Shu and Jamin thank you so much for bringing my Crooked Willow Farm dreams to life! And thank you for being some of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of working with. I hope you love the photos and cherish them forever. Next on the blog, Adelyn’s senior session at the iconic Chautauqua Park. She has the best smile…don’t miss them!
