Today I am sharing Shylee’s Estes Park senior portraits from Sprague Lake and Moraine Park. Shylee and her mom flew out from Pennsylvania just for her mountain senior session. She really loves Colorado! We were initially supposed to do these on October 30th. Mother nature was not cooperating, so we decided to push them back a day and hoped for the best. The weather in the high country from October through March is so unpredictable. Unfortunately it was still a very windy afternoon. We still managed to get a bunch of good stuff, but I know it was not the ideal conditions Shylee probably dreamed of. I hope they still love the photos and will cherish them for years to come!
The crazy wind required a lot more photoshop work after the session. It’s worth it though, to have happy clients. I also had to miss my son’s Halloween school parade to accommodate this rescheduled session. Normally that wouldn’t be that big of a deal, but his costume this year was EPIC! I built a Titanic costume, since he’s obsessed with all things Titanic. He was the talk of the school. I would have loved to see everyone’s reactions in person, but some friends and my father-in-law sent some videos at least.
Shylee had five main outfits for her senior session, with a few shots in a sixth and the letterman jacket for technically a quick seventh look. She started in jeans, a long-sleeve white top, and cowgirl boots. Next, she changed into my personal favorite. This was a fairly unique outfit. It was a burnt orange floral crop top and matching tiered skirt. It was giving some Moroccan vibes! After dealing with some intense winds, we decided to go to Moraine Park and see if the conditions were any better.
Shylee’s third outfit was a tiered white dress, it looked especially great when she’s walking through the fields of golden, long grasses. Next, she changed into an earth-toned floral romper and cowboy boots again. She wanted a couple quick photos in her Butler Golden Tornado softball jersey. She paired that with jeans and even incorporated a softball and glove for a few shots. Shylee kept this outfit on and added her letterman jacket over top for a few additional images. Her final outfit

This is definitely one of my favorites from Shylee’s Estes Park senior portraits. I love this fun outfit and the fun, playful motion of twirling in her skirt.

Thank you Shylee. I know the weather may not have been what you anticipated for your senior session, but I am still confident we got you some beautiful mountain images for you. Wishing you the best senior year and an amazing college experience afterwards. Next week on the blog, a photographer friend of mine and her family visiting from Texas. We met up at Dawson Butte Open Space in Larkspur for some snowy, fall photos. Check back soon!
