I have driven by McCall Lake between Longmont and Lyons so many times over the years. I have always thought it would be a good place for a photo session. Katy and Trevor were looking for a pretty spot for their Longmont maternity portraits. I suggested McCall Lake and they thought it would be a good choice. It worked out beautifully! It was such a bright and sunny day. No one would have ever guessed that this was a winter session. But then again, we didn’t really get much of a winter this year.
It’s been so great to photography Katy and Trevor several times now. I first met them when they were guests at Cortnee and Caleb’s wedding. I also did their engagement photos and an extended family session for Katy’s side. That session included a mini session of couple’s portraits for the two of them. So I was thrilled to hear from them as they awaited their firstborn’s arrival! These two are always so amazing to work with. They are sweet, beautiful, and such naturals in front of the camera. They kept things simple with just one outfit during the session. But brought along a few props to add some variety into the photos. A sonogram, little baby shoes, a crochet lion, and a cute little elephant figurine.

This super sunny, sweet moment is definitely one of my favorites from their Longmont maternity portraits. Golden hour goodness with the most beautiful “parents to be”. Love it!

Katy is absolutely glowing! She looked beautiful in this army green sweater dress and ankle boots. Trevor kept things neutral and complimentary in brown pants and a black button down shirt.

Thank you Katy and Trevor. I hope to meet and photograph that beautiful baby boy too someday! Enjoy this amazing, beautiful, exhausting journey of parenthood 🙂 Next up on the blog, my dance friend Marisa’s fall mini session with her adorable family in Lyons. This was my first time photographing the Carlson family and we had a lot of fun together. So check back very soon!
