The Carlson Family | Lyons Family Photographer | LaVern M. Johnson Park

Marisa and I have taken hip hop together at Dance Dimensions for years. I was so honored when they chose me to be their Lyons family photographer just before Thanksgiving. We went to the beautiful LaVern M. Johnson Park for their session. Most of the fall foliage was long gone, but we still got some amazing family images together. The photos gave off major fall vibes regardless, largely in part to their cozy sweaters. We took a bunch of photos by the river, some on the bridge, in the field of grasses, and by the large rock formations. During the Carlson family’s session we were sure to get a good mix of smiling at the camera photos. As well as fun, playful photos and candid shots. Just about every combination of groupings we could get for a family of four. The rest of her family is just as sweet and funny as Marisa. I really enjoyed meeting and photographing all of them.

I like when family’s wear complimentary clothing without being “matchy”. They all wore jeans in various shades and styles, individual to each of them. Sweaters in white, navy blue, mustard yellow, and brown. These colors complimented the scenery very well. They looked great, and the outfits weren’t restrictive in movement or sitting photos. This was the first of hopefully many family sessions with this adorable bunch!

This is definitely one of my favorites during my afternoon as the Carlson’s Lyons family photographer. This wasn’t even really planned. The girls hopped up and wanted piggy back rides to the car. It was too cute to miss!

Thanks again Carlson family. You were amazing photography subjects. All so photogenic, with the nicest, natural smiles.

Next on the blog I am jumping forward several months for Catherine’s University of Colorado Boulder college graduation photos. She completed her undergrad in just three years. Very impressive!
