It was so fun reliving Lauren and Justin’s gorgeous, southern wedding day, while blogging these photos! They were married at the same venue as Carrie Underwood…isn’t that cool?! I am primarily a Colorado wedding photographer, but I really love to travel for weddings too. This wedding was actually a real wedding workshop through the always amazing Bob and Dawn Davis. Since this is the second workshop I have taken with Bob and Dawn (well third, counting Bob’s one-day lighting workshop that stopped in Denver last year), I obviously really love learning from them 🙂 Bob is such a master of light, and I especially enjoy learning off-camera flash from him, since that is an area where I would really love to grow! Lauren and Justin’s wedding weekend was a 3-day marathon, but I had a great time! Even the wedding day was 16-hours…wowza!! My feet hated me!!
The wedding was a beautiful, luxe, winter event in Greensboro, Georgia. The Ritz-Carlton Lodge is a pretty rustic location (it reminded me a lot of Colorado mountain wedding venues), but they held a glamorous, red and gray ballroom wedding. Complete with lots of sparkle, lush, large floral arrangements, beautiful purple uplighting, and even an amazing black-and-white dance floor!
Lauren and her bridesmaids are passing a garter through the group, and they all will/have worn it on their wedding day! They were so emotional…it was a sweet moment!
Lauren did a first look with her dad…it was really touching! She gave him a custom handkerchief as a gift. It brought a lot of memories back, because I also gave my dad a custom handkerchief on my wedding day 🙂
And then it was first look time with the other man in her life!
Lauren and her dad rode over to the church in a Princess Rolls Royce…it fit perfectly with their glamorous Southern wedding day!
Because there were a lot of us photographers, and we didn’t want to be too intrusive during the ceremony. The few photographers I was carpooling with and I decided to head back to the reception before the ceremony ended, so that we could capture all the beautiful reception details, before the guests came. This is why I don’t have all that many ceremony photos here. We were a bit bummed that the vendors were not done setting up the reception, so we captured some details, but had to wait to get everything!
