Melissa and Steven had a vibrant Pines at Genesee wedding in 2015. I had not shot a wedding at this venue before, although I have had a few friends get married here over the years. The venue gives a nice Colorado forest wedding vibe, as the ceremony spaces are nestled amongst the trees. Melissa and Steven chose a hot pink and black color scheme. I just love colorful weddings! And since fuchsia/hot pink was one of my own wedding colors, as well as one of my main branding colors, I obviously am a big fan 🙂 I especially loved Melissa’s show-stopping hot pink heels!
Melissa and Steven laughed and smiled the entire day, it’s always so great to work with fun, easy-going couples! We had a blast the entire day, that is until the two were safely in their limo for the night and I was packing up my stuff. I had let my second shooter go for the night, and all the guests had left. I go out to my car in the dark (it seemed super dark out too!), my car won’t start! I am over an hour from home, I call my husband for help, he was at a friend’s house having drinks, wasn’t able to come get me. I knew all the guests were gone, but I went in to check if any employees were able to jump my car…none of them had jumper cables. Finally, I asked the DJs…YES, they had jumper cables! Once they packed up all their stuff we headed outside, I hit my head (hard) on the hood of my car (like I said it was CRAZY dark out there!). We get it running, phew, and I start my journey home an hour later than planned. I neglected to mention how bad the mosquitoes had been, so I was scratching my legs raw the entire ride home. I also hit night construction on I-25 on the way home, and was delayed another 20 minutes or so. At long last I was home and could soak my feet, take a Benadryl and have a much deserved glass of wine 🙂 It was a very memorable ending to an otherwise extremely smooth and fun day!
How stinkin’ cute are these two ring bearers in their sunglasses?!
Melissa’s wedding look was complete with some stunning Swarovski crystal jewelry! She was full of bling, it looked beautiful 🙂
See, I told you these ring bearers were adorable!! I loved the sign Melissa made.
You know how I love a cathedral veil!! We had some fun with it, and I love how dramatic the shots are 🙂
What an adorable cake topper!!
Snuck out for a few quick sunset photos 🙂
Thanks so much, Melissa and Steven…it was such a pleasure working with both of you. Wishing you a lifetime of wedded bliss!
Have a wonderful weekend friends! What’s in store for you next week here on the blog?!…a gorgeous styled shoot including an awesome burro named Peckinpaw, and a sweet anniversary shoot in Boulder for an out-of-state couple 🙂 And perhaps a summer wedding at one of my favorite Colorado venues, Lionscrest Manor, depending on how much work I get done this weekend LOL! Happy Valentine’s Day loves!
xoxo,
Melissa
