At long last…Jenna and Aric’s Lyons Farmette wedding (River Bend location) in beautiful Lyons, Colorado. This was my first time shooting a wedding at this location, but you know me, I love pretty much every Lyons and Estes Park wedding I have photographed! River Bend has some great mountain views, and the St. Vrain River runs through it, making it a tranquil Colorado outdoor wedding venue. Jenna and Aric were blessed with a beautiful summer day, which was wonderful because most of the reception occurred outdoors. There was a brief moment during dinner when the rain came, and the wind kicked up, but that quickly passed. You know the saying though…”If you don’t like the weather in Colorado, wait five minutes!”. It was very true in this case. The weather was clear the rest of the night, so Jenna and Aric and their guests danced the night away under the stars in the gorgeous Rocky Mountains.
Jenna and Aric wanted their photos to be a little bit different from the other River Bend weddings they had seen. They did some exploring, and figured out how to get up…WAY UP…above the venue. I faced my fear of heights, and I am so glad I did. We got some really amazing photos, that were some of my favorites from 2015! Some other memorable moments from Jenna and Aric’s wedding day were when Jenna and Aric were literally sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g, the yummy pies they had in place of wedding cake, the bridesmaids singing Backstreet Boys during the toasts, and the CU bus picking them up after their reception. What a fun day it was, I am so glad I was the one to capture it!
Aric had one of the best reactions I have ever seen when he saw Jenna. It was so sweet…I wish I got a reaction like that from my husband 🙂
I don’t typically request that my clients climb in a tree for their Colorado mountain wedding photos! Jenna came up with the idea, we saw a ladder nearby, so they climbed on up 🙂 I think they came out adorable.
Jenna was my first bride to sport hiking boots for part of their portrait time…she looked so cute 🙂
