Kim & Ian + 1 On The Way | Colorado Maternity Photos | Evergreen Photographer

I have known Kim and Ian for over 3 years now, and have been lucky enough to work with them a handful of times.  First I captured their Denver engagement photos in 2012, then their beautiful Lionscrest Manor wedding in 2013, I photographed Kim’s cousin’s wedding in 2015, and finally their Colorado maternity photos this past winter.  I am so happy for this wonderful couple, as they became parents to a precious daughter, nearly 4 months ago now.  They still hold the record for the most outfit changes of any of my engagement sessions LOL!  Kim has such great style though, I just loved seeing which outfit was next 😉  So, I was definitely not surprised that she had several wonderful maternity outfits, and cute accessories as well.  She was also the first mama-to-be to wear one of the maternity gowns that I bought last year.  She absolutely rocked it!  Especially considering it was winter and quite cold out, we were above 7,000 feet and she was barefoot, with her legs covered in goosebumps.  I hope they were worth it, Kim!  I think they were…I just love them (although I know I am biased).  For their maternity session we first met at Lookout Mountain Park in Golden.  Because it was winter, that really wanted snow in the photos.  We thought there would be snow at Lookout Mountain, but we got there, and uh oh…almost no snow.  The snow that was there was patchy and dirty, not what they had envisioned.  I was panicked for a moment as I tried to think of a spot that would have snow, that hadn’t been walked through too much, and that was somewhat close so that we didn’t waste all the pretty afternoon light driving through the mountains.  I mentioned Evergreen, and we decided to give it a shot.  We cruised up the mountain, fingers crossed that there would be snow.  I lead them to Frosberg Park, a little known trail in Evergreen, that I photographed at a few times previously in 2015.  We get out of the car, and…SNOW!!  Even better, fairly deep snow + beautiful sunlight!!  It was a very pretty and enjoyable session, and I hope they will cherish these photos 🙂

I know people have babies every single day, and there isn’t a “maternity season” like there is a wedding season.  But wow, does it feel like maternity season lately!  I am not complaining, I love photographing glowing mamas-to-be 🙂  Especially since I bought 4 beautiful maternity gowns in 2015.  They are expensive, so I am so glad to finally be photographing several of them.  In the coming months I will be sharing at least 7 more maternity sessions with you!  If you are interested in booking your own Colorado maternity photography session, please contact me now.
