Kate + Josh | Boulder Engagement Photographs | Colorado Wedding Photographer

Hello! How was your weekend? Crazy busy around here! I went to a photographer retreat in Breckenridge with ten other awesome female photographers. I also shot four quick sessions at the Dillon Ice Castles. As well as attending a wedding, as a guest, for the first time in probably five years 🙂 It was my baby boy’s first wedding too. We had fun getting super dressed up for a night out in downtown Denver! Finally up on the blog today, one of my wonderful 2018 wedding couples. Over the summer I met up with Kate and Josh at South Mesa Trail, to capture their Boulder engagement photographs. They went to college in Boulder, so it was important to have their engagement photos taken there too. We wanted the iconic flatirons in the background, so South Mesa was the perfect location.

Although I have captured tons of Boulder engagement photographs over the years, this was my first time at South Mesa Trail. It is definitley a Boulder hot spot! It will certainly not be my last visit either. South Mesa Trail can get insanely crowded at certain times of year, and now I understand why. There are so many different “photo ops” in a very close proximity. You get the flatirons and mountain views, a shallow creek, nice trees, the old stone building, a unique wooden bridge, and this time of year that we shot, we even got a few wildflowers. Kate and Josh also had some great outfits picked out, and they were such naturals in front of the camera. I am thoroughly looking forward to their wedding this year at the amazing Flying Horse Ranch in Larkspur. I have shared some winter photos from this location, so I am super excited to return for a beautiful, late summer wedding too. Their Larkspur wedding will undoubtedly be a fun, classy, and sweet wedding celebration…just like the two of them 🙂

Even though it was summer, the water was a little chilly! These two were such troopers getting in the water. I am sure glad they did, I just love these photos.

We even got a little bit of a rainbow for their Boulder engagement photographs.
