Another month upon us…how did that happen? My baby turns one this month. Unbelievable! It goes just as fast as everyone claims it will. Day to day can be really slow, but the months flew by, especially these past 3. He has started walking in the past few weeks. And now, everyday, he seems to grow up right before my eyes! Before I know it, he will be a teen too, and I will have to think about his senior portraits. Ok, let me not get too far ahead of myself LOL 😉 At the end of last year I had the pleasure of photographing a handful of dance girls in and around Longmont and Lyons, CO. I will be sharing the other ladies’ photos soon, so please check back. First up, beautiful miss Mia. She is such a sweet, lovely, young lady, and the camera loves her! Especially when she put on those pointe shoes for the Colorado dancer photography portion of her session.
We met at the Longmont Agricultural Heritage Center, and boy was it WINDY! We decided to push through, and make it work…I am sure glad we did. The session ended up great! Fortunately, the heritage center has a lot of structures and buildings that help block the wind. I often forget about this Longmont location. They have kind of odd hours, so that’ s probably why I don’t visit it often. The few sessions I have had here, however, have been great! I love the rustic barns, the silo, and all of the other cute vignettes they have there. And the cute farm animals don’t hurt either!
Mia grew up in a dance family. Her grandmother owns the studio I grew up at, Dance Dimensions. Her mom and aunt have danced professionally, and now help run Dance Dimensions too 🙂 She is incredibly talented, like the rest of her family. She is an award-winning soloist and a recent tap piece she choreographed was viewed over 3 million times on Instagram! Mia is definitely going places in the industry! I am glad to have captured this Colorado dancer photography session for her in 2017.
Wowza….check out those strong dancer legs! I sure miss dance, and the strength and grace it brings along with it 🙂
Thanks for checking out my work 🙂 I would love to work with you or your child to capture their class of 2019 Colorado senior photos!
