I have said it before, and I am sure I will say it again…I work with the best clients! Katrina was a bridesmaid at a wedding I photographed in Wyoming a few years back. Since then she has been following my work. When I blogged a different A Basin wedding, she and Brian loved the photos. They decided to go check out the venue, and instantly fell in love. I was so excited to return to the Black Mountain Lodge at Arapahoe Basin again, for another gorgeous ski resort wedding. Even though I don’t love heights, I always really like photographing ski resort weddings LOL 🙂 The chairlifts make for a great photo op. And the scenery is jaw-droppingly beautiful to boot! The other A Basin wedding I photographed was super rainy in the late afternoon, and the ceremony had to be moved indoors. We had some nerves as Katrina and Brian’s ceremony approached, because the rain made another appearance. Things cleared up quickly though, the staff wiped down all of the chairs, and the outdoor ceremony was a go! They were able to say their “I dos” beneath the epic Colorado mountains, just as they envisioned, and it was incredible.
Bride and groom and wedding party portraits were extremely important to Katrina and Brian. They opted to do a first look, and allocated a significant portion of time before the ceremony to get a ton of photos. I am so glad they did! Portrait time was nice and relaxed. We got so much variety, as you can see from the large number of bride and groom photos below! We also had some fun making a big loop on the chairlift. What an awesome and memorable thing to do as BRAND new newlyweds! A lot of couples want some alone time immediately after their ceremony. Here they got it, while enjoying the fresh mountain air and the amazing views as well. I loved my own wedding, but if I could turn back time, I too would consider having an A Basin wedding! Some other wonderful parts of Katrina and Brian’s wedding day were the hilarious wedding toasts, the lively, packed dance floor, the DIY mountain centerpieces, and the bride’s beautiful reception accessories. Katrina and Brian, I wish you a lifetime as spectacular as your wedding day!
Katrina did her own hair…and it looked incredible!! I was seriously so impressed. There are many creative/artistic things that I do pretty well. But hair (or make-up) is certainly not one of them 🙂 She looked amazing!Â
Isn’t the back of Katrina’s dress just amazing? I love it…so beautiful!

Before capturing these Arapahoe Basin wedding photographs for Katrina & Brian, I had the awesome pleasure of having them in front of my camera for their fall engagement portraits. We started at a local Fort Collins brewery, and ended up at a colorful, open space park. I promise, you don’t want to miss out on those photos…click here to check them out!
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my work 🙂 I would love to capture your Colorado mountain wedding photos as well! Contact me now and let’s chat about your wedding photography needs. A beautiful Longmont dancer is coming to the blog next, check back soon.
