I was so happy when Danna Frost Photography asked me to help photograph this Villa Parker wedding for her company. Her associate photographer and I, Chelsea, have shot numerous weddings together over the years. It’s always fun working together! I have always wanted to shoot at Villa Parker before. I have seen many Colorado wedding photographs from this venue over the years, but had never had an opportunity to work here. In fact, I actually inquired with this venue back in 2010, when I was looking for a location for my own “trash the dress” styled bridal session. We didn’t end up using the venue, however. Villa Parker is a beautiful Mediterranean style estate, with quaint, Tuscan charm. I especially love the wrought iron gates, the arches, and the courtyard with the lovely fountain. I look forward to working here again in the future (hint, hint)…fingers crossed!
Lauren and Cal were a sweet, laid back, fun-loving couple. They laughed a lot and that always makes our job so enjoyable! Their Colorado summer wedding was both playful, and sophisticated, just like the two of them. Some of my favorite parts of their day included the jenga guestbook, the greenery centerpiece wreaths and runners, and their tender first dance out in the courtyard, beneath the glowing market lights. I also loved their floral bouquet “unity ceremony”! I did something like this for my own unity ceremony and still have the bouquet displayed in my house today (8 years later). This was the first time, since my wedding, I have seen a version of this. Clearly, I am biased, but I thought it was unique and a very nice touch 🙂 While classics like the unity candle and sand are great and rooted in tradition, I always love thinking outside the box and doing something different.
I always love and appreciate when we can sneak couples away for a few more romantic bride and groom portraits, during golden hour or sunset. These have to be my favorites from the day. You just can’t be that warm, soft, golden light!Â

Happy Wednesday friends, and thanks for stopping by. This week is dragging already, or is that just me?! So much to do…so little time! So it’s time to be signing off for today. Check back again tomorrow for a snowy Sapphire Point family session in Breckenridge.
