Oh man, this session was definitely a favorite from the class of 2019 season! Holly has a great smile, an effervescent laugh, and is a kind and beautiful young lady 🙂 Holly really wanted photos in a sunflower field. When I spotted one by my sister’s house in Berthoud, I knew we needed to stop by. To add a little variety to the session, we decided to stop by some more “urban” spots in town too. Wait…can a tiny town like Berthoud be considered urban LOL? Urban to me isn’t about the size of the city. But rather, it’s less about nature and more about the manmade elements and textures. Brick and metal walls, colorful gates, cool alleyways… we hit it all for her Berthoud senior photos.
We started Holly’s session at an old grain mill, turned antique shop. It added a rustic element to her session as well. I am in love with the photos with the old rusty, orange truck too! We wandered all over downtown Berthoud. If you have worked with me before, you know I can get in a zone and keep shooting, and shooting, and shooting. We definitely spent longer downtown, than I initially intended. This actually worked out great though, because even though we had less time at the sunflower field, the lighting was perfect. We didn’t get a crazy epic sunset, but still a bit of great color. The sunset and dramatic clouds made the sunflower photos that much better!
Told you she had a great laugh!! Just makes you want to laugh too 😉
Love that we found little “nooks” like this in the sunflower field. So visually it looks like she in the middle of a massive field, but in actuality it was a totally bare section! This way we didn’t do any damage to the lovely sunflowers, but still made Holly’s dream a reality.
This is definitely one of my favorites of these Berthoud senior photos! It placed in the top 20% of the “teens and seniors” division during this year’s Shoot and Share photo contest.
Thanks again Holly for letting me capture these Berthoud senior photos for you. I hope they will bring back happy memories for years to come. I have sure enjoyed having you on my senior rep team, and I look forward to seeing what the future has in store for you 🙂 Never lose that joyful smile and gracious, kind personality! Enjoy these last few months of senior year at Skyline High School…you are getting so close now!
