I have photographed numerous sessions in Lyons over the years, but I never even knew that this park existed. Most of the colorful fall foliage was gone on the front range, so I was scrambling to find a pretty fall location. I saw this LaVern M. Johnson park recommended in a photography Facebook group, and I knew I had to check it out. It was thankfully still very colorful, and a great option for Erin’s Niwot senior photos. I will definitely be visiting this pretty spot for years to come 🙂 It’s an expansive park, with access to a large stream (maybe the St. Vrain River, I am not totally certain), cool rock formations, a bridge, fences, and all the amazing mature trees! Lots of variety in one, convenient location.
Erin was representing Niwot High School on my class of 2019 senior rep team. You may remember my first session with her at Roosevelt Park, over the summer. I absolutely loved the way those ones turned out, so it was going to be hard to top that shoot. This one definitely came close, though. Because she again, totally nailed it! I love the braid she wore in her hair this time. Along with the sweater and tall boots, she exuded a cute, comfy, cozy, fall vibe.
Saving my favorite of Erin’s Niwot senior photos for last! Sometimes it just works like that, where the last shot of the day is my favorite. Mic drop…session over 😉
Erin is off to Western Colorado University to continue her education. She will also be a part of their track and field team. Way to go Erin! I hope you love your college experience as much as I did. Thanks for being a part of my senior rep team. I expect to hear from you when planning your wedding someday 😉 Enjoy these final weeks of high school, and I hope graduation is a blast!
