I have known this adorable couple for over 20 years. They are fellow Longmont High School “class of 2000” graduates 🙂 I had happened to be staying in the Grand Junction area for a wedding shoot at a Palisade lavender farm, this past summer. I really wanted to shoot at the Colorado National Monument while I was in town. So I asked around on social media to try and find a local couple to get in front of my camera. Alyssa and Travis were game. I had forgotten that they lived fairly close, and I knew we had to work together! Alyssa and Travis have been married for almost 15 years, and have 4 beautiful children together. They seem just as smitten as they were 20 years ago! It was a true pleasure to be their Grand Junction photographer on this fun afternoon.
Since I knew that the Colorado National Monument existed, I have wanted to shoot there. It looked really beautiful, and unique, in photos. The monument did not disappoint! It was a gorgeous, sunny afternoon. There was hardly anyone there, so we basically had the place to ourselves! Alyssa and Travis were such troopers, especially Alyssa, considering she is afraid of heights. I am too, so I completely sympathize 🙂 But she still went pretty close to the “edge of the cliff” on more than one occasion. It was worth it, to get these epic couple’s portraits! We were even rewarded with a soft, colorful sunset.
Even saw some big horn sheep…well not particularly big horns yet 😉
This is definitely a favorite from this Grand Junction photographer…what a view!
Or maybe this is a favorite…I just cannot decide!

Stay safe out there, folks, with all of this corona virus craziness! This is completely bonkers…I have never seen anything like this 🙁 What a scary, uncertain time. This is certainly affecting our industry (like so many others). I have already had a few clients have to move their weddings. I have also heard about many venues having to cancel on ALL of their clients in the coming month. So sad! I cannot imagine all of the stress these couples, wedding planners, and everyone involved, is under. Hugs all! And if any of my clients need anything from me, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Coming to the blog very soon, Nicole and Brandon’s Westminster wedding. Check back soon, it’s sure a good one! Enjoy your Sunday afternoon, friends.
