The Showalter Family | Golden Colorado Family Photos | Golden History Museum and Park

Next on the blog, the wonderful Showalter family! I have known Jessica since high school, and I have had the pleasure of photographing numerous milestones for them over the years. Engagement and boudoir photos, their mountain wedding, maternity and newborn photos as they welcomed their first little lady into the world. Then family photos as a new family of 3, and maternity photos awaiting little lady #2. Finally these Golden Colorado family photos, with a few maternity shots too for baby #3! Their family is complete now, with the addition of their precious baby boy. Hopefully I can eventually capture photos for them as a family of 5 too 🙂

For these fall family portraits we went to the Golden History Museum and Park for the majority of their session. Followed by a few dusk shots in their own backyard on Lookout Mountain. I have shot at the Golden History Museum a few times, and it’s a cute little spot, in the heart of downtown Golden. This spot offers a lot of variety, which is perfect for a family session with active little ones! Their are bridges, rustic buildings, a stream running behind, lots of trees (with colorful fall foliage this time of year), and even chickens! What a fun fall session, with a sweet young family!

The little girls looked adorable in their matching striped dresses, and turquoise bows. Nora is just a month or so older than my little guy, and this was my first time photographing her (outside of the belly that is)! She took a few minutes to warm up to me, but I managed to get many big, natural smiles out of her. Nora and big sis Layla are really precious together. Built-in BFF (best friends forever)! I am sure they are loving being big sisters to their baby brother.

This is probably the last shot of the night, but definitely one of my favorites from their Golden Colorado family photos. How cool with all those city lights in the background as nighttime approaches?!

Thanks Jessica, Nate and kiddos…I had such a fun time with you guys! Hopefully I will have an opportunity to meet sweet Mr. Ellis someday too 🙂 Stay warm out there Colorado friends. It may not be quite the “snowpocalypse” some were expecting, but we are still at about a foot of snow in Firestone. It isn’t slowing down anytime soon!
