Nicole + Kelbey | Rocky Mountain National Park Elopement | Estes Park Photographer

December 8, 2021

Today on the blog I bring you some Rocky Mountain National Park elopement photography inspiration. In actuality Nicole and Kelbey were already married, and about to celebrate their first anniversary when this mountaintop photo session took place. Their first outfits could very well be wedding attire though! Many of the passerby on Trail Ridge Road were hooting and hollering and congratulating them as well…so I wasn’t the only one who thought this. This fun couple was visiting Estes Park and decided they would like some couple’s photos with a mountain backdrop. They brought three outfits, and they looked amazing in all of them! We got so much variety. I was thrilled with the final results, and I hope they were too!

We began this sunny gorgeous session at the tip top of Trail Ridge Road. It was sure windy at 12,183′! They were troopers though. They embraced it, and we definitely had a ton of fun together. I love the outfit choices that these two made. They started out super dressy, almost elopement wedding attire. Then, a touch less dressy for the second option. Nicole had a pale purple dress and Kelbey still rocked his suit. Finally, they went more casual for the final look. Nicole had a cute denim jacket, skirt and sneaker combo…she looked great!

Trail Ridge Road always makes for a picturesque backdrop! I am not great with heights, so I admittedly don’t get up there as often as some of my colleagues do. But it’s always been worth the slightly scary drive, when these are the results. The views are amazing…some of the best in the state!

This is definitely one of my favorites from their RMNP session! In fact it’s been the cover photo on my business Facebook page for the past year.

Thank you Nicole and Kelbey. I hope your second year of marriage was even more wonderful than the first! This session was a great reminder of why I love this job so much. Beautiful, loving couple that actually enjoyed being in front of the camera. (Many times the men are done after about 15 minutes LOL!) Then those amazing Rocky Mountain National Park views on a sun drenched evening. I couldn’t have asked for anything more!

Next up on the blog, Louisa’s Skyline High School senior portraits. Which included some shots in her pointe shoes…check back soon.
