15th day in a row of blogging…woo hoo! If only I can keep this up and get caught up before summer arrives. This is supposed to be slow season, right?! Today I am bringing you Andrew’s urban and wrestling senior photos in Longmont. I used to work with Andrew’s mom at my banking job. It’s been so wonderful to photograph both of her awesome children now. You can check out Andrew’s sister, Tiana’s photos HERE. One of her swimming pictures has been my most popular senior image ever! That image won 35th out of 29,640 images in the 2018 Shoot & Share photography contest. I was thrilled to hear that Nina and Andrew wanted to incorporate his athletics as well. This always makes sessions so personalized, unique…and a lot of fun!
We started off Andrew’s Longmont senior photography session at Skyline High School. His parents got permission from the wrestling coach to allow us in there on a weekend evening. I have done quite a few sports themed sessions over the years. This was my first wrestler. Andrew was a natural on camera, and he was up for trying any of the ideas I had. I brought some off-camera lighting equipment so we could add some drama to the photos. After a bunch of shots in the wrestling room, and utilizing all the wrestling equipment/props Andrew brought along, we headed over to Prospect New Town in south Longmont.
This is a definite favorite from Andrew’s wrestling senior photos. Just look at all those metals!
Andrew wanted some nice, non-wrestling shots as well. So we walked all around the funky neighborhood of Prospect New Town and got some modern and urban senior portraits as well. This is a great location because it’s pretty close to home for me, it’s a bit of a hidden gem, and it’s got so much variety. There are buildings and homes in every color imaginable. Then you’ve got countless unique walls…cool rust colored and metal walls, and brick and concrete walls. Lots of good spots for some nice photo ops!
Thanks again Andrew, I really enjoyed having you in front of my camera. It’s always fun to get little sneak peeks of what’s going on in your family’s life through your mom’s Facebook posts. Coming to the blog tomorrow, Karen & Randall’s Cielo at Castle Pines wedding photos. You have to check out their amazing cake!
