Today I was busy capturing an outdoor intimate wedding outside of Loveland. In many ways it was reminiscent of Faith and Fred’s wedding, so fitting that I am sharing that today! Faith and Fred had a sunrise wedding in Brighton. Very rarely am I up before the sun LOL! But it was worth it to capture these Barr Lake State Park wedding photos for this sweet couple. This was my first time at this location, but I have since been back for a family session as well. This is a nice location with some great variety. It boasts the lake and unique bridges and docks. Lots of mature trees, large rocks to pose on, wooden fences, and golden, open fields. I really like shooting here!
We started shortly before sunrise for Faith and Fred’s first look on the wooden dock overlooking the lake. They exchanged gifts, and lots of hugs. It was so nice for them to have so much alone time before their guests arrived for their lakeside wedding ceremony. The three of us walked all around and captured a bunch of romantic couple’s portraits and some individual shots of each of them. The sunrise lighting was soft and beautiful. And during this time there were multiple wildfires burning in our state, so when the sun finally made an appearance it was a unique, glowing red orb. Looked pretty cool…but of course awful that the fires have to be burning to have a cool sunrise like this.
After the first look and couple’s photos, guests arrived and were instructed down to the water’s edge of Barr Lake. They had a sweet, meaningful ceremony. Faith’s adult children served as sort of a bridal party, standing at the front of the aisle with their beautiful mother. After vows and rings were exchanged, and their first kiss as man and wife was shared, we moved onto group portraits. Their post-ceremony “cocktail hour” (although no cocktails were served) was full of laughter, hugs, coffee and bagels. They had a few picnic benches decorated, and some favors for guests. My coverage was over, and I was home from work for the day around my normal wake-up time! I enjoyed meeting and photographing these great people. Their wedding was simple, short and sweet, but oh so full of love and joyful memories together 🙂
This is definitely one of my favorites from their Barr Lake State Park wedding photos. Love their gentle, natural smiles and this quiet, candid moment!
Thanks Faith and Fred! I hope newlywed life is treating you well and that you will cherish these photos for years to come. Thanks for trusting me to capture your precious memories. Next on the blog, Gracie’s Sandstone Ranch Longmont senior portraits. Wishing you a wonderful Easter with friends and family. Off to handle my Easter bunny duties for the night 😉
