Ashley and Evgeny + 1 on the way | Brainard Lake Maternity Photos | Colorado Mountain Photographer

Today on the blog I am sharing Ashley and Evgeny’s Brainard Lake maternity photos. I have to admit, I was completely in love with this session and kind of wish they were my own maternity photos! We even saw a moose at the end, which was the icing on the cake. Ashley and Evgeny were really sweet and gracious. They made my job so easy and enjoyable! I felt so terrible though, I could not for the life of me figure out how to properly pronounce Evgeny’s name. Surely he gets that a lot being fairly new still to the US. He told me to call him “Bob”. I still felt like a dummy for not getting his given name right.

Ashley and Evgeny were still newlyweds, and had been married in Tennessee, where Ashley is from. They weren’t very happy with their wedding photos (NOT taken by me!) so having great maternity photos was very important to them. They were thrilled with the final results! We had selected Brainard Lake because it is so beautiful and quintessential Colorado. We got a lot of variety between the lake and mountain views, the flowing river with small waterfall, tons of pine trees, some small patches of wildflowers, and the bridge and dock too.

Ashley had three beautiful maternity dresses. She looked amazing in each of them, but the first one was definitely a favorite of mine. She was glowing and radiant! Bob, I mean Evgeny (just joking y’all!) looked great too. He made one outfit change that she didn’t…into his karate Gi. Martial arts are an important part of his life, and I think it was really cool that he incorporated that into a few photos too.

This is definitely one of my favorites from their Brainard Lake maternity photos. Such a sweet, tender moment between these lovebirds!

Thanks again you two! I hope parenthood is treating you both amazingly well. I adored you both, and it was my true pleasure documenting these photos for you. Hopefully you will look back on them fondly for many years to come. What’s up next on the blog? Isabella’s Longmont senior session. We got urban photos, photos on a rose garden, and in a open space nature setting. Definitely a little bit of everything. I hope you will check back soon!
