I have said it before (and will probably say it again), but I just love working with my past clients again and again! It’s so wonderful celebrating important other milestones with my wedding couples 🙂 In 2018 Briana and Kevin had a beautiful winter wonderland wedding at the Della Terra Mountain Chateau. This is one of my favorite local venues! Less than a year after their amazing wedding, they were expecting their first child. We met up at Brainard Lake for their Colorado mountain maternity photos. What an epic session at this gorgeous location!
Brainard Lake is such a fun location to shoot at, with so much variety. You get the lake, colorful mountain views, some bridges, a little waterfall, a river, and a lush forest setting. Lesson learned after this session though, the cell phone service up there is terrible. We struggled to find each other and get messages/calls to go through. Thankfully, we finally found one another. But since this session, I now always meet clients “down the hill”, near Hygiene, and they follow me up the highway. Another hiccup was the weather. It did start raining on us a bit, but thankfully it remained just a small drizzle. And you know what? With the sunshine, the rain actually looked super cool on camera!
Briana was glowing, and looked great in both of her maternity outfits. She had a long emerald green maternity gown that really complimented our nature setting. The color was perfect against her blonde hair too! For those maternity clients that don’t want to buy this type of maternity dress themselves, please remember that I have a small “client closet” with 7 options of dresses in this style. Long dresses, to show off the beautiful belly, in shades of fuchsia, purple, black, jade, light blue, royal blue, and wine. Briana changed into a shorter black dress, with a delicate, white cardigan. This was a little more casual option, but still looked very nice and accented her growing bump!
This is definitely one of my favorites from their Colorado mountain maternity photos!
It started raining a little bit. I am not even mad about it…I think it looks really cool on camera, as the sunshine hits the raindrops!
Look at all those shades of green…so pretty!!
Thanks again Briana and Kevin! I hope you are enjoying your new role as parents to your little man. Isn’t it (simultaneously) as amazing and challenging as everyone says? Hopefully someday I get to work with you all again, and meet/photograph the cutie that was in that belly 😉
