Katy + Trevor | Longmont Engagement Portraits | Sandstone Ranch

Christmas week is upon us! Are you ready? I have a little more gift wrapping to do, but mostly good to go. Speaking of gifts, Katy surprised Trevor with a gift at the end of their Longmont engagement portraits at Sandstone Ranch. It was an air rocket launcher, similar to this. You may be thinking, what a random gift…there’s gotta be a story here. You would be correct. At this very location, Sandstone Ranch, years ago, Katy and Trevor shared their first kiss. Afterward they hung out and watched a boy and his dad launch rockets. It sounded like those were estes rockets, and I just wasn’t sure if they were legal in public with a fire ban. I just didn’t want to risk my business license or get a citation, so we brainstormed these instead. You know what? They turned out to be an absolute blast, and these are some of my favorites from their session.

Katy and Trevor are such a sweet and fun couple, it was my true pleasure to capture these photos for them. I have actually photographed Katy three times now. Twice as a bridesmaid for Cortnee and Caleb’s pandemic wedding ceremony, and their larger reception the following year. And then Cortnee, Katy and another bridesmaid did a best friends session during my fall mini sessions. That was coincidentally also at Sandstone Ranch. This was my first time meeting Trevor, and he’s a really cool guy. He had been a teacher at Longmont High School for awhile. That is actually where I went to high school, so we did both know a few of the same people. Small world! They are getting married in 2023 at Lionscrest Manor. They are a stunning couple…I am sure they will have a picture perfect day!

We almost rescheduled their session because there were some crazy storms all over on this evening. They luckily seemed to remain all around us. We had a rain-free session and really dramatic skies!

This is definitely one of my favorites from Katy and Trevor’s Longmont engagement portraits. What a cute couple, sharing a sweet, candid moment!

Thanks very much Katy and Trevor. Your session was a total blast (pun intended LOL!!), and I won’t soon forget it. On the blog tomorrow, Jamie and Ben’s wedding from the Rist Canyon Inn. This was my first time shooting at this Fort Collins venue…hopefully not my last!
