Today on the blog, Alina’s Westminster senior portraits at McKay Lake. I have driven by this location, but this is actually the first time I have shot here. This location offered some decent variety and was close and convenient for Alina and her family. We captured these photos just days before Alina’s graduation. She was graduating a year early and her program also earns her some college credits already. Amazing! Such an impressive young lady!
Alina chose two outfits for her session, and included her graduation “garb” in many of the images as well. She started in a short, white lace dress. It fit her beautifully! She added her bright blue graduation cap and gown, her tassel and sash. The blue really popped against all of the green and brown of the trees and nature scenery. A fun trend in recent years is when students decorate the top of their graduation cap with images, quotes, or cool designs. This is such a great way to make their graduation attire more unique and personalized. Alina added colorful silk flowers and the quote “where my life begins” to her cap. It looked so great. Next she wore a blue, floral romper. That was super cute, photographed well, and complimented the spring setting perfectly.

This is one of my favorites from Alina’s Westminster senior portraits. Love that soft, golden hour light, and her joyful, sweet smile!

Thanks so much for allowing me to capture this special time in your young life, Alina. You are a sweet and very impressive young lady, and I know you will do great things! Next on the blog, another cap and gown graduation session. This one was a college graduate named Carolina. I had a great time photographing at the Colorado School of Mines for the first time with her 🙂
