Back in August I met Kayla and Dan for the first time while capturing their epic maternity pictures at the Great Sand Dunes National Park. Now I got to photograph their baby girl Ruby on the outside of the belly! They traveled up north a bit near me to capture these Longmont family portrait photography session at Sandstone Ranch. We met by the historical visitor’s center and took advantage of all the variety around there. I totally spaced that it was prom weekend for some of the local high schoolers. We had to dodge like 25 of these teens, but we managed to get some great stuff together! Ruby is an absolute doll. She made me work for it, but we got some super sweet smiles out of her.
The Polizzi family looked great in their spring inspired photo shoot outfits. The ladies in pink dresses, and Dan in khaki pants and a light blue polo shirt. Kayla added a cute jean jacket for the majority of the photos. Ruby wore the cutest little bow headband that matched the floral print of her dress. Such a cute, young family! We got a ton of photos in a short time. We took photos on the bridge, in front of the ponds and river, using the fallen tree as a bench, and against the old, wooden barn. This is always such a “crowd pleasing” location. Aside from the variety, it’s the single most convenient location for me. It’s less than a 10 minute drive…which allows me to spend more time with my own precious family!
This is one of my favorites from the Polizzi’s Longmont family portrait photography session. I love Ruby’s silly expression, and that little peek of spring flowers in the background!
Thanks so much Polizzi family. It was my true pleasure to capture these photos for you guys! I hope to have many more opportunities to work together and document Ruby growing and changing for years to come. I won’t be back to the blog for a bit, since I am still all caught up with my posts. I have a high school senior session this weekend at McKay Lake. Surprisingly, this will be my first time shooting at this location. It’s always fun having the challenge of a new spot. Monday evening will bring me yet another new location…the School of Mines. College graduation/senior portraits have really gained popularity over the last three years. I, for one, really love it! It’s such an important time in life, and definitely deserves to be celebrated! Have a great weekend all 🙂
For another family session from this location that I loved, check out the Wickett family HERE!
