Shawn + Blake | Boulder Summer Wedding Photos | Colorado Backyard Wedding

Today on the blog I am sharing my 700th blog post! Holy cow…that’s a lot!! I can’t even believe I have shared that many sessions and weddings here on my blog over the years. Post number 700 is Shawn and Blake’s Boulder summer wedding photos. This backyard wedding was on a friend’s amazing property. As I walk up to start my photography coverage, I see a gal I know from my adult hip hop class at Dance Dimensions. It turns out this property is actually owned by my dance classmate’s by mother. Talk about a small world! And wow…what a picture perfect backyard for a wedding. It boasts a massive open space field with unobstructed flatirons and mountain views.

While we had some moments of crazy weather (that is the story of summer 2023 in Colorado I suppose though), it turned out to be an incredible wedding celebration. There was rain, huge wind gusts, but also tons of sun, and even a double rainbow! Some of my favorite parts of Shawn and Blake’s day included the wooden “A” backdrop arbor, representing their married last name. I also loved the beautiful wedding flowers by Red Door Flowers out of Louisville. Blake is a former CU buffs football player, so a lot of the guests were also CU alum. When they walked back down the aisle during the recessional, guests started singing the CU fight song. I definitely joined in too!

This is definitely one of my favorites from Shawn and Blake’s Boulder summer wedding photos. I just love that pretty golden light, expansive flatirons field, and a sweet moment between the newlyweds!

Thank you again Shawn and Blake. It was wonderful to work with you guys, and I wish you all the best in your married life together! You are a really fun couple, as were your guests.
