Today on the blog I am sharing Emily and Brent’s Colorado mountain engagement portraits at Brainard Lake. Well wait, I guess not technically engagement photos because these two have been officially married for a few years. But they are finally living in the same state and having their big wedding celebration this winter. These two made the trek all the way from Colorado Springs for their pre-wedding couple’s photography session with me. This is definitely one of my favorite mountain locations for a photo shoot! It offers so much variety…gorgeous lake and mountain views, a river, stone and wooden bridges, and lots of trees. It can be a very windy spot though, and it’s hard to get an accurate weather prediction before you get there. It was windier than I had hoped, but we definitely made it work and got some amazing stuff!
Besides all of the various “photo opps” at this location, we also got some variety with outfit changes. Emily chose three outfits for their session. She wore a navy blue lace dress to start. Next, a more casual choice. She changed into jeans, a maroon top, and a long, gray cardigan. Her final outfit was a vibrant green, tea length dress. That color was stunning, and that was my personal favorite! Brent kept things easy and neutral with tan pants and a gray, button down shirt. They made great choices, and everything complimented the backdrop wonderfully.
This is definitely one of my favorites from their Colorado mountain engagement portraits. I love this sweet, genuine, candid moment, and that jaw-dropping backdrop!
Emily and Brent, it was so wonderful to meet and photograph you two. I am so excited for your December wedding in Colorado Springs…it will be here before we know it!
