Laura’s aunt is actually the person who found me, and hired me for her niece’s wedding. So it was a big coincidence when I met up with Laura and Colin for the first time that Laura and I actually went to high school together. And Colin and my husband are in the same industry, and worked at the same company a little while back. They were planning their wedding at the Lionsgate Event Center, and I was thrilled to capture every moment for them. Their Chandelier Barn Colorado wedding ceremony was stunning and unique. It was followed by a fun-filled reception at the Dove House. I was actually a bridesmaid at a wedding back in college at the Dove House. It’s a lovely, classic space!
There was so much to love about Laura and Colin’s wedding. They are both scientists, and that’s how their love story began. They incorporated science into their day with a chemistry experiment unity ceremony and we even drew an atom with sparklers at the end of the night. Some other memorable parts of their day included their ring warming ceremony, their epic dessert table, and including their beloved pups in their family photos and on Colin’s cufflinks. These two also love the ocean. They even got engaged on a scuba trip in Cozumel. The ocean inspired their wedding colors. The flower girls carried large glass seashells, and sea glass adorned the escort cards and reception tables.
I just love all of the variety that the Lionsgate Event Center provides. Where else can you get wedding portraits in a British phone booth, on a vintage truck, in a barn dripping with chandeliers, against wrought iron gates, and in a field of golden grasses?!
This is definitely one of my favorites from Laura and Colin’s Dove House and Chandelier Barn Colorado wedding. I just love that soft, sweet moment, the movement in Laura’s veil, and the colors painting the sky!
