Today on the blog I am sharing Jillian’s Holy Family senior photography session. I have known Jillian since she was a baby. Her mom and I have known each other since elementary school age from the dance studio. But we really got to know each other and became friends starting in middle school, which we attended together. After high school we grew apart some, like many people do. I was thrilled when Courtney reached out for Jillian’s senior photos. This was actually a two-part session. We started with a family mini session, I recently shared those HERE. Then the focus was all about Jillian for this special milestone in her young life. Jillian wanted a mountain setting, and she really wanted a spot to photograph her Jeep in “the middle of the road with yellow paint lines”. We started her session at the beautiful and versatile Viestenz-Smith Mountain Park.
The Viestenz-Smith Mountain Park worked beautifully for Jillian’s session. We captured photos with all of the scenery this park offers. The river, rock formations, funky metal sculptures, the stone wall and bridges. As well as many images in the open fields of long grasses and the yellow flowering shrubs. The only thing that we didn’t think would really work here was a spot for the Jeep in the middle of the road. On my drive over from Firestone I kept my eyes peeled for a spot that might fit the bill for the Jeep photos. I did stumble on this low traffic, side road that had mountain views, and yellow paint lines in the road. One car did pass by when we were in the middle of the road, we waved our apologies and wrapped things up quite quickly.
Jillian wore four outfits for her senior session. The first one she only spent a short time in because she wore that for their family photos, and felt like she got enough images in those jeans, white lace-edged tank top and cowgirl boots. Her second outfit was a short, super light sage green dress. Her third outfit was my personal favorite. It was a long, large-print floral dress in white and purple. Her last outfit was the most casual, which fit along well with the rustic bridge and then with her black Jeep Wrangler. Dark jeans and a black camouflage tank top looked great with her Jeep photos against a sunset sky. What a beautiful evening session in the mountains of Loveland.

This is definitely one of my favorites from Jillian’s Holy Family senior photography session. I love the pose in her cool Jeep, and what a great smile!

Thanks so much Jillian, it was a really fun session! Wishing you the best senior year. Best of luck with engineering school…that’s so impressive 🙂 I am sure you will do amazing things! Next on the blog, a two family session in Breckenridge. The Boehm and Carter families were vacationing together and decided to have a joint photography while visiting this beautiful mountain town. Check back soon and have a beautiful day!
