The Larsen Family | Evergreen Family Photography Session | Evergreen Lake House

I have had so many opportunities to work with the wonderful Larsen family over the years. Always amazing, I really love these guys! This fall they decided on the Evergreen Lake for their Evergreen family photography session. We have worked at this location before. It provides some nice variety between the mountain and lake views, all of the bridges and wooden docks, wooden fences, and of course some large evergreen trees. This was definitely the sunniest session we have had together. But don’t let that fool you, it got quite cold at the end. They cuddled under a blanket though, for some adorable, cozy photos.

Like so many other mamas, Kailey always stresses about their photography session outfits. But she always does an incredible job! Coordinated, but not too “matchy” is the best way to go. Their little guys were cute in matching tan pants and white Nike sneakers. They each wore a flannel in shades of blue and brown. Kailey decided on dark jeans and a cozy fall sweater in white and tan. Leland wore black pants and a simple navy blue sweater. These casual outfits fit the rustic, mountain setting very well. I love the variety of candids and smiling portraits we got during their session. With little kids you just have to embrace the candid images. You cannot expect genuine smiles at the camera for an hour straight. And honestly allowing them to run freely, be lifted and swung by their parents, throw rocks into the water, etc. create some of the sweetest moments and lifelong memories.

At the end of the session we passed at least 30-40 high school students taking homecoming photos at the lake. These were most certainly Evergreen High School students. This wasn’t long after the tragic shooting at their school. I cannot imagine how horrible that was do go through. But I was happy to see them all excited about a school function. Out living life, having fun, so full of joy…the way it should be! I hope it was an incredible evening for each and every one of them!

This is definitely one of my favorites from the Larsen’s Evergreen family photography session. I am so glad they brought this blanket. What a cute, cuddly moment!
