Lydia & Brent had a fun-filled, 1920’s themed Willow Ridge Manor wedding with pops of red that beautifully matched the surrounding red rocks. Just one week prior to their wedding, I had Kendall and Matt’s “1920’s meets contemporary” wedding. These 1920’s themed weddings were very different from one another, but equally beautiful and personal! The historic home really fit the theme (as you felt like you were transported to a different time), as did the unique DIY bridesmaids bouquets, and the feather details throughout.
Lydia use to work with my husband, so I was lucky enough to know them for several years before their wedding. These two dated for many years, so it was extra exciting to finally make it official! There was a lot of emotion and joy throughout the day as these families were finally united 🙂
Lydia and some of her bridesmaids started their day at The Bubble Room salon in Lakewood. I loved the brightly colored walls and the cool, contemporary decor! They did a beautiful job on the bride’s and bridesmaids’ hair and make-up.
I loved the feathers in Lydia’s bouquet, they definitely added that “wow factor” and fit the 1920’s theme.
Lydia had a great vantage point for spying on arriving guests 🙂
What a stunning bride! The red lips and the birdcage veil made the look!
The ladies looked amazing! I really loved the red dresses with the red rocks backdrop 🙂
Brent and his guys definitely clean up well too 😉
Brent was totally relaxed walking down the aisle. He was waving at everyone and doing “thumbs up”…it brought a smile to everyone’s face!
I just love emotional grooms! The all-encompassing joy and love is my favorite part of photographing weddings.
I brought my hubby along to this wedding (so 3 shooters in all), because he use to work with the bride. With 3 photographers we are able to get a bit more creative! He had fun playing with the “tilt shift” lens…isn’t it a cool effect?!
The cake was a beautiful black-and-white damask, and it must have been good because it got 2 “thumbs up” from the bride!
I just love the expressions of both Lydia and Brent the moments before they tossed the bouquet and the garter…such focus!
A lot of guests went along with the wedding theme, and dressed in 1920’s attire. Themed weddings are really fun!
The dance floor opened and fun was had by guests of all ages!
I love sneaking the bride and groom out for a few minutes of nighttime photos too 🙂
Thank you Lydia and Brent for trusting me to capture your special day! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness and love.
xoxo,
Melissa
