I have known Melynda since high school, but we literally had not seen each other since graduation! I was so very glad to reconnect with her last year, and have the privilege of capturing her and Erik’s Breckenridge wedding photography. Erik is such a wonderful guy, and a perfect match for Melynda! They were an absolute joy to work with and both so gracious and kind people 🙂 The couple actually lives in New Mexico, but I am so glad they were able to make a trip back to Colorado for their engagement photos at Evergreen Lake House and Elk Meadows Park.
Melynda & Erik’s Lodge at Breckenridge wedding was a sweet, intimate celebration on a beautiful, super warm, fall day (seriously, I think it was one of the warmest weddings I shot in 2014!). Breckenridge in fall is just stunning! And you know, Colorado mountain weddings are my favorites…so I hope to return to Breckenridge very soon 🙂 Some of my favorite moments from their wedding day include, the signs the kiddos were carrying down the aisle, and how emotional it made Erik, their unique monogram beer cap “guestbook”, Melynda’s first look with her dad, and their fun sparkler exit!

What a beautiful location for a wedding!
They did a unity plant ceremony with soil from the areas where they grew up. Every wedding guest added soil to the pot and then they watered it. Such a great idea!
