Another Bob & Dawn Davis workshop under my belt! This one was held at the Ritz-Carlton Lodge in Greensboro, Georgia. This is the venue where Carrie Underwood got married…how cool is that?! I first met Lauren and Justin at the Davis workshop in Charleston. On the final day of the workshop they came along with our bride and groom, Jenni and Stevn, and modeled for us. So, they were already part of my engagement portfolio, but I was excited to take part in “real” engagement photos with them 🙂 They are such naturals in front of the camera (you would have to be with the workshop “paparazzi” photographing you!). I plan to share posts of their rehearsal dinner, their wedding day, as well as their post-wedding “rock the dress” shoot! So check back soon.
I am typically a Colorado engagement photographer, but it’s always nice to experience and photograph new places! The Ritz-Carlton Lodge is a great spot with a lot of variety. It is on a lake, there are beautiful trees all over, there was a cute swing, and a little bridge with a fountain. The indoor lodge reminds me of a lot of rustic Colorado wedding venues…I felt right at home 🙂
Lauren’s dress and shawl were beautiful, when the wind picked up a bit it was flowing in the breeze. We decided to embrace the wind and have her play with the shawl…I think it adds some nice movement to the photos 🙂
Justin was even having fun with the shoot!
This is definitely one of my favorites! How sweet and romantic!!
I am hoping to have another “From the Archives” post up later this week! Have a great week friends 🙂
xoxo,
Melissa
