October is always a busy month in the photography world…this one is no exception! Everyone wants to capture those beautiful fall colors, and get in some pretty photos before winter hits. Last October I didn’t have any time to blog. That’s right…zero blog posts this time last year. So, the fact that I am sharing my third post this month is a major win in my book! My friend, and past client, told me about this poppy field outside of Estes Park over the summer. I just knew I needed to capture someone’s photos there. This was the perfect choice for Betsy & Corey’s Colorado couple’s photos, celebrating their one year wedding anniversary.
Although this isn’t a massive poppy field like you might see on a postcard from Tuscany, it was still pretty awesome to photograph 🙂 I think I may have been about a week late for the prime bloom of these beauties, but there were still quite a few! I will have to check back next summer to see if I can catch the field’s full bloom. Betsy & Corey were truly as lovely as these flowers! They were sweet and kind, and naturals in front of the camera. It’s so important to continue to get nice photos with your family. No matter if you are a family of two, or twenty-two, capturing fun memories and sweet moments should be an annual occurrence. I am not biased or anything though LOL 😉 I would love to be the one to capture these too, as your Colorado family or Estes Park engagement photographer. So don’t wait…contact me now!
I think this has to be my favorite from this sweet, sunny Colorado couple’s session!
Or maybe it’s this one? I sure love it too! It really gives more of that expansive poppy field effect…swoon!

I hope you enjoyed viewing these photos, as much as I enjoyed taking them.
Things have been so busy around here, and I am tremendously grateful! Everything except for the overwhelming editing and blogging load that is. I have over 50 sessions/weddings to still share with you all….wooo, that’s a lot LOL 🙂 Keep checking back often for lots more of these pretties!
[…] This was the first time I captured senior photos at Mary’s Lake, and it worked out beautifully! There is so much variety at this location. We got mountain views, the lake, with the closest thing we can get to a beach in Colorado. There are also many cool rock formations, trees, and even some wildflowers. Thankfully we managed to avoid the bad weather, and the dramatic skies looked amazing in the photos. After getting a bunch of great stuff in Estes, we headed back toward Lyons, to a stunning wild poppy field. I have shot here before for Betsy and Corey’s couple’s portraits. Check those out HERE! […]
