Alyssa + Dustin | Colorado Couples Photography | Boulder Engagement Pictures Inspiration

2 new blog posts, 2 days in a row! Wow, that hasn’t happened in a long while! These two beautiful humans may look familiar if you follow my work. I have captured many photos for them over the years 🙂 First, their Boulder engagement pictures, followed by their Wedgewood wedding photography, and finally these fall 2017 couples photos amongst the colorful aspen trees. We even met up again recently for yet another couples session. That one, was at the amazing Dillon Ice Castles! Alyssa and Dustin got super fancy for that shoot…I can’t wait to share those with you too.

Prior to their fall session, I did a lot of location scouting to find some super colorful trees in Boulder County. I had always wanted to shoot at Gross Reservoir, outside of Boulder. I headed up there to look around. Me and my future assistant…my 6-month-old baby boy, Dominic! Their wasn’t a lot of color left in Boulder city limits, but the drive up to Gross Reservoir did not disappoint. After spending a little bit of time with Alyssa and Dustin above the reservoir, we headed back towards Boulder. We pulled over on the side of the road to take a few more photos next to an Aspen grove at peak season. We even had an appearance by a special visitor. Scroll down for the surprise!

Often when capturing Boulder engagement pictures or couples photos, random wildlife make an appearance. I even encountered a moose with her twin calves several years ago. At Alyssa and Dustin’s Boulder photography session, we were visited by a monarch butterfly! It landed so perfectly on Alyssa’s hand…I just love this!

I am trying to blog again tomorrow…so check back! I am still a long way from being caught up on blog posts though. There are 50 more sessions/weddings on my list. Wowza…I may never catch up! But I just want to share all this joyful goodness with you all 🙂
