I haven’t captured all that many Colorado backyard wedding photos, but those that I have done are always so incredibly special! Kayla and Jason’s summer wedding did not disappoint. And with a backyard like this…who wouldn’t want to get married here? Kayla’s parents hosted the stunning event at their Monument home. If it wasn’t for the minor hiccup of a rain delay, the day went off without a hitch. I am so glad that Danna Frost Photography had me along for another wedding. This was, again, a great wedding to join her on. The couple was beautiful, very gracious and fun to work with, and the whole day was so personal and meaningful!
Some of my favorite moments from Kayla and Jason’s Colorado backyard wedding were the jaw-dropping golden hour sunlight during the romantic portraits. As well as the unique wedding salt covenant ceremony, the simple and beautiful wedding decor including lanterns in every shape and style you could imagine, and the custom, wooden signs. They incorporated their young daughter into their big day as well. She looked so pretty in pink! Just about as amazing as her stunning momma. Kayla looked like a bridal model though…with flawless make-up and hair, and a perfectly fitted wedding gown. So much eye candy in one day! Enjoy the photos, as much as I enjoyed capturing them π
According to the Truth or Tradition website: “The Covenant of Salt is an ancient covenant mentioned in the Old Testament. It was a means of sealing a covenant or agreement between parties. It was a required part of grain offerings, and in fact every offering (Lev. 2:13). According to 2 Chronicles 13:5, the kingdom was given to David by a Covenant of Salt. Colossians 4:6 says our speech is to be seasoned with salt. Salt is essential to life; it heals; preserves; adds flavor or βzestβ to food. People in Bible times appreciated the value of salt and it was a required part of sacrifices.”
Such a sweet and emotional wedding ceremony. Everyone in attendance shed a tear and roared with laughter at some point during the ceremony.
This is the gorgeous lighting I was talking about! Can I just go ahead and order this up at every wedding I photograph?! Ok, thanks, bye π
One of the sweetest father-daughter dances I have ever seen…love!!
