I had such a wonderful time working with Nicole and Josh at their newlywed session in Rocky Mountain National Park a few years ago. So, when they contacted me again for another session, I was so excited! We decided on Horsetooth Reservoir for their Ft Collins maternity photos. Nicole had hoped for some fall colors for their session too, so I did a little scouting beforehand. While, there wasn’t a ton of leaves changing yet, I did find one decent patch nearby. We spent a few minutes over there at the end of the session too. That gave them some nice variety…and hopefully made the drive from Wyoming worthwhile 🙂
Nicole looked amazing! Pregnancy definitely suits her. They were very eager to meet their own little one, as I shared a few stories about my own munchkin. It was a gloomy, fall day in Fort Collins. But the sun peeked out for a few minutes, and the sky looked incredible. I loved that the blue of the mountains and sky was perfectly complimentary to Nicole’s pink and salmon dresses. Horsetooth Reservoir is always a good choice too! I haven’t shot here much, but sure hope to more in the future. It’s beautiful, easy to get to, and the mountain and water views are highly desirable.
See, the sun didn’t stay away the ENTIRE time 😉 The sky looked so cool! Sure wish we had this light the entire time though.
Recently I entered the annual Shoot and Share photography competition again, for my third year in a row. The results aren’t out yet! But I did submit this one of Nicole and Josh’s Ft Collins maternity photos, because I just love it! A few of Nicole and Josh’s images from their newlywed session did well in the competition my first year. They placed in the top 10% of all the wedding couple photos (which is nearly 37,000 photos!). That was pretty cool 🙂 I will share my 2019 results in the coming weeks…once I know them!
Thank you Nicole and Josh! Hopefully your new adventure with your baby girl, is going amazingly well. I hope to meet her someday and capture family portraits for you guys as well 🙂 My own little one is about to turn 2 at the end of the month. How on earth is that possible?! Time sure does fly right on by! He is the funniest little goofball. But as we enter the dreaded “terrible twos”, it’s almost comical the things that will set him off into a temper tantrum. Like today, he was throwing himself on the floor, hysterically crying, because I tried to give him water in the blue cup, instead of the green one. LOL…silly toddlers!
So, with a new month upon us, you can expect a lot more great posts here on the blog. In the coming weeks I will share a snowy, winter wedding in Estes Park, gymnastics senior pictures, and a colorful fall session in…you guessed it…Breckenridge! I hope you will check back often.
