Finally a Granby Ranch wedding to share! I sure hope to shoot here again. It’s really beautiful, and so convenient for me, as my in-laws have a place about 15 minutes away 🙂 For Kelly and JJ’s late summer wedding I shot alongside Kathryn Kim, both on behalf of Drake and CO Photo + Films. Drake and team was there capturing video of the beautiful day! Because I was second shooting, I was with the guys for a large part of the day, while Kathryn was with the ladies. This is why I don’t have many photos of the ladies. As a second shooter, it is your job to cover what the primary photographer needs you to. So that is what I did! Hopefully I can book my own Granby Ranch wedding soon, and so I will have all portions of the day to share on the blog.
Some of my favorite parts of Kelly and JJ’s day were the ski themed elements. It is a ski resort after all! The ski centerpieces and guestbook were adorable. As well as the table names were various ski resorts. Kelly and JJ are also big Star Wars fans, and incorporated some Star Wars touches into their day too. A few bridal party members dressed up as storm troopers, and one even as Darth Vader. Guests received light sabers. They made a light saber tunnel for the newlyweds to run through, on the way into the reception. The dance floor was packed with light sabers as well. It was a perfect day to tie the knot at 9,202 feet (a bit windy up at the peak…but otherwise perfect)!
Kelly was super excited to finally see her groom! This aspen grove was the perfect place for their intimate first look 🙂
One of Kelly’s bridesmaids sang during the ceremony, it was beautiful. Kelly was very emotional…I love these moments!
Then some guests busted out a bunch of sports gear from some of the Denver teams. Everyone was sporting Broncos, Rockies, and Nuggets shirts and hats. It was really fun 🙂
